Transformers G1 Brawn (Cartoon)

I felt like doing another Transformer piece. This time, I went with Brawn. Huffer's buddy. Again, he's not my favorite Transformer of all, but I thought he was worth spending time on.

What can I say about Brawn? He's a Robot Hefty Smurf. A mini-Bot who's main characteristics is that he's really strong, brave, bold, and tough. Brawn likes to go in with his fists swinging rather than use a laser pistol, yet he looks midget sized up against larger Decepticon opponents. He's gutsy enough to take on anyone.

What really stuck out for me was that he's tried to kill Megatron on at least two occasions. The first time, he took Megatron's cannon and tried to shoot Meggy with it. The second time, he was shrunk down to micro-size and was trying to bash Megatron's brain. Usually Prime and Megatron duel it out until they're interrupted, Megatron retreats, or it looks like he died at the end of the episode. But Brawn will actually try and straight up kill him when he has an opening. The only other Autobot that tried to do that was Cliffjumper, when he attempted to use some kind of energy sniper rifle/cannon... thing, that he conjured out of no where (subspace?).

I wouldn't call that heroic, but definitely pragmatic or a common sense approach to the war. Anyhow, those were probably more memorable cool moments for me in the original cartoon. He was cool enough that I was surprised that he died from a shoulder wound in Transformers the movie. Megatron gets some payback in the end, I guess. Of course, it's debatable if he died or not. Mostly because it's 'off camera'. I'm not going to argue whether or not his shoulder is his Achilles' heel.

I like him a lot more than I liked Outback. The Autobot, not the steak house. The early season did a better job taking the crappy looking robot modes from the toys and making them look better. I don't think I'd like Ironhide or Ratchet if they looked like their original toys. I never thought Outback was as successful in looking as cool as his counterpart.

Anyhow, this was my attempt at the G1 Cartoon version of Brawn.
